Hello there! Hope you have been doing well these last two weeks! I've been pretty busy with getting things done and working on multiple things. Juggling teaching, working, side projects with a family and social life tends to be slightly difficult here and there, but it is very rewarding. Because of this, you may not know this depending on when this comes out (update, I am late on this one haha), but this newsletter is being written VERY close to the time to deploy it out (other update, it was late XD).
This makes me think about the importance of being realistic about what you can accomplish. To me, having ambition and being realistic about that ambition are two separate things. My definition of ambition is to have the drive to want to accomplish many things. It is wanting to do something bigger than what you are already doing. Individuals who achieve great things must have inside them. Without this ambition, it is safe to say that you probably won't push for that extra mile that allows you to achieve great things. There are exceptions to this, but I truly believe ambition is a big part of the battle to achieve great things.
Being ambitious, however, can sometimes lead to some other effects when you are trying to do way too much and having burnout. That is something that I have been trying to gauge. I haven't experienced actual burnout before, but what I do experience is trying to plan too much in a day and/or week. No matter how ambitious you are, you can only do so much in a single day. There are only so many hours to accomplish things. This is something that people should be very aware of. It is a difficult thing to try and damage, but it is of the utmost importance that you do figure that stuff out.
What do you guys think about this? Do you believe there is a difference between the two? What do you do to separate the two to make sure that you don't experience burnout? Let me know!
