Hey there! Happy end of the week! How have your weeks been going? My family just got a dog and that has been taking up a lot of my time recently haha. Creating big changes and adjustments in my life, but I do not regret it at all. This being said, if you have any tech-related products for dogs, feel free to send them my way. I already have a collar attachment for an AirTag holder for the dog, but open to anything else as well!
Future Face Tech Thoughts
These last two weeks, I have been thinking about the future of VR and “face tech”. The rumors that are coming out are that while VR seems to be the thing that we are all able to purchase now, the tech industry's end goal is to create an AR product that we will be able to utilize to overlay on top of our world. There are tons of people who have different opinions about whether or not we should be going to the point of putting tech on our faces and I think that is super interesting to see the different viewpoints.
On one hand, I'm the tech guy here and I don't see a problem with it at all. I'm pretty much rooting for it. I love technology and I love using it in ways that help us progress our lives. I see tech as a way that we can achieve more, not get complacent and do nothing. At the end of the day, these things are tools and should be used as such. They can empower us to do more and I see the glasses as being just that. Being able to live in a future where they can overlay information while we are working or doing another task that requires our hands feels like a great future in my opinion.
On the flip side, some individuals believe that technology should be left where it is, and starting to put things on your face might be going too far. To a certain extent, I can understand what they mean by that. You do not want to get to the point that the technology controls your life. That is not something that I am looking for you. You should control the technology, not the technology control you. There is also the belief that it can start to isolate you from individuals. I can see that mentality, but again I believe the items are tools. They can be misused as well as used correctly. Inherently the items aren't tools for isolation.
At the end of the day, we don't know what the future holds, but I'm super excited to see where it goes. I think there is a great future with technology and I am hoping the glasses thing becomes a reality.
How about you? How do you feel about technology becoming more and more intertwined with our lives?
