Hello there! Welcome to another new year of productivity!
We are back on the horse for content creation this year and this year I am going to hit the ground running. I'm super excited about the plans that I have this year and can't wait to get some of these goals accomplished and make some well-needed changes this year. How about you? Do you guys have some goals that you are looking to achieve this year?
I'm also super excited about all the new tech this year. There are tons of things on the horizon, but I'll save that for a later blog post on the stuff that I think is coming out.
Why Set Goals?
This week I want to talk about why I set goals for myself. Goals are something that I think is very important for an individual who is looking to improve themselves. I use goals as a way to try to set that standard and metric that I am trying to hit. I find that sometimes without having set goals, I get in the habit of just accomplishing the most random things without any direction. I will blindly just try to do random things and with that mentality, I end up not achieving my potential. That is why I think goals are super important. They allow you to set goals for you to focus on and create a path for you to achieve the best version that you see of yourself.
But this is a fine line. There is a thing as setting too many goals for yourself that you can't possibly achieve or causes you too much stress. Goals should be a guideline for you to accomplish things and not become an overbearing feeling. If you set way too many goals that you can't accomplish, you start to either let some things fall to the side to not be accomplished or even worse, you accomplish a lot of these things but not to the best of your ability.
When setting goals, you want to make them manageable while also pushing yourself. Now this is not the easiest thing in the world and I'm not going to sit here and pretend like I have the exact science. There is a give and take with this and takes tons of practice. You will need to be truthful and honest with yourself about what you can handle on your while also allowing yourself to push yourself slightly. This is something that will take some time to hone, but if you are honest with yourself, you should be able to eventually do this.
This is something that I'm still working on, but hoping I will make great strides this year. What about you? Do you have any goals that you are trying to achieve?
