Hey there! Hope you have been doing well the last two weeks! I have been staying busy working on all my projects and professional accomplishments. Workwise I have been allowed to handle some development tasks and I have been loving it so far. Besides that, I have started preparing for some content creation projects that I am looking forward to doing, so keep on the lookout for that! What about you guys? Anything that you guys are working on and looking forward to?
This week, I wanted to touch upon the topic of staying humble. Something that I have noticed when talking to others about myself is that I usually get a response along the lines of "Wow, you are doing/accomplishing so much". I don't think that way most of the time and while you should realize the things that you are accomplishing and taking care of so you can be grateful, sometimes not getting too wrapped in the things that you have accomplished is a good thing.
See, sometimes individuals see the things that they have accomplished and get complacent. They start to think that they have reached this level of greatness that can't be matched and it starts to have negative effects. It can be anything from believing you are better than others to being too complacent at the level you are at and eventually losing it all.
For me, losing everything that I worked for is something that I am always afraid of so I don't allow myself to become complacent. I believe this thought of losing it all doesn't allow me to just look at the things that I have accomplished and think I have done it all. This fear allows me to stay humble and not think that I am on top of the world.
Some people might think I'm just acting out of fear, which is slightly true. I did use the word afraid earlier, but the way I look at it is that I'm being humble and aware of the scenario that I have created. I know that within an instant if I become too complacent, these things that I have worked to achieve, this ever-growing and changing knowledge in the technology space that is always moving, this stuff will slip right through my hands.
To me, that is allowing me to stay humble, and continue to work towards improving myself and achieving more.
What about you? Do you believe humility is important for an individual to have? Can you make any improvements in your own life?
