Hey there! Hope you guys have been doing well! Hopefully, you all have been keeping busy with learning new skills!
Technology is something that as you all may know that I'm very passionate about. If there is a way technology can enhance my life, I usually chose that option. With technology being such a big part of my identity and my life, it usually brings people to come and talk to me about it.
With all of these conversations, I have noticed that technology is one of those things that is all about the perspective in how people look at it. Me, I love technology. I am constantly purchasing the newest phones and the newest versions of tech. When something comes out that can replace something analog in my life, I upgrade to the technological version. Does sometimes it mess up? Absolutely, but I usually can see the good in it and the multiple things that change the way that it is working. I see technology as an exciting future that will allow us to be able to do more. Not everyone sees it that way.
Some people view technology as a hassle. They don't see the benefits of everything being run by a computer. Their smartphone gets an update and they are immediately confused about why they need to always be running updates. When it fails, it is immediately an inconvenience and they wish it was just back to the way that was working before. If it ain't broke, don't fix it (or improve it lol).
In my experience, this is usually someone from an older crowd who prefers things the way that they know them. However, some people just don't fully understand the technology either and don't want to understand it. Sometimes technology may allow you to do more, but require more steps to handle some simple tasks. When that happens, people who don't care about the tech behind this ability, just want it to work normally. It is interesting to see if from that point of view because although I understand the feeling that that person is having, I see the benefit. When something happens to me, I will get annoyed sometimes, but I end up understanding that technology is a work in progress.
You also have the people that are somewhere in the middle. They enjoy the tech, but they also don't care much about it. These are the people who will hold onto their smartphone until it breaks and then buys whatever phone gives them the best deal. They will have hundreds of updates on their phone and never apply them. These are the most interesting people because it is almost like they get stuck in a moment until something forces their hand. And when that happens, they aren't upset about the change, they just are alright with whatever the change was. This is the most common group of people that I seem to interact with. They don't love tech, but they don't hate it. They are somewhere in the middle.
All this being said, it is super interesting how the same product is perceived in so many different ways. This is such an interesting concept for me because technology is one of those things that everyone experiences in their everyday life and we all perceive it completely differently. I would love to be behind one of the teams that create a product like this to see how they perceive the audience they are building their project for. I'm sure they are passionate about the product that they are creating, but I wonder how much they think about all these different scenarios.
Do you guys have any things that you are passionate about that can be perceived in many different ways?
