The Anticipation of Product Releases
Hey there! What a crazy situation right now for us being affected by the storm in Canada. I live in Central PA and even we are being affected by this. At the time of writing this, my Pixel was telling me that the Air Quality was about 165, but that has been fluctuating all week. Hoping everyone that is affected by the wildfires is safe and okay!
Besides that, it has been a crazy amazing week with WWDC and the announcements of the Vision Pro! The tech community has been blowing up my news feed with all of this information and I'm just as excited. I love WWDC and all the releases that come with and this year's event was remarkable. I wrote a whole blog post that I will link below about some of the top announcements that had me excited!
With these announcements being announced but not yet released, I started to think about the anticipation that comes from this situation. I am not a patient person when it comes to tech releases at all. When they come out, I immediately want them at that moment. I've been waiting over a month for this Pixel Fold and I still have a couple more weeks left and it has been KILLING me haha. Now, I have to wait until the fall for all the software updates AND I have to wait until next year for this Vision Pro device. I just want all these now haha.
It is an interesting concept to think about knowing exactly what is coming and having it be confirmed by the company, but being unable to use the actual software and/or device. The build-up that it brings and excitement over the product or software existing and wanting to incorporate it into your life. I'm pretty excited at almost all times with the releases of technology and this is no different. I am sure there is a reason why companies do this. Most likely to build up hype, but I always want the product immediately after they announce it haha. I know with software some companies do beta releases of their products, but I rely heavily on technology in my life and have run betas before and have not had good experiences so I wait until the official release.
The funny thing is that we all want to see what technology is moving toward and what is next that we are rarely satisfied. We get the updates, enjoy it for a couple of days or weeks, and then the rumor mill kicks up and we are all about the next thing. I guess that speaks volumes about us and how we are as humans and need to always have something new. Either way, I just enjoy technology and can't wait for these releases and where technology continues to head!
Does this time in between the announcement and the official release make you want the product more or are you able to wait and not be affected? Let me know!
