Hey there! How are you guys doing? I hope this week has been fun! This week finally was able to announce that I will be starting to teach my college-level course this fall! I'm teaching mobile development at a university so I'm pretty excited. Just adding more things to my plate, but I love it haha I'm going to have tons of thoughts about this experience that I will be posting about on my blog so if you are interested, be sure to subscribe to that! (Link Below) I hope you guys have been trying to achieve your dreams as well and try new things!
Part of taking on so many things though is trying to remember all the tasks that I need to do. For me, the thing that has worked so well is creating a To-Do list. I use Microsoft To Do (I am in the middle of switching to ToDoist actually as of writing this), but there are tons of other applications out there that can do the trick. I have heard of people using Things 3, TickTick, or ToDoist to keep track of their tasks. These are all great apps that can help keep track of your tasks.
The thing that a to-do List has helped me do is try to plan out the things that I am going to accomplish during the week. Every Sunday, I sit down and take a look at my To to-do list and see what I need to accomplish this week. I assign certain tasks every day and make sure that I try to get things done when they are necessary. The To Do applications can help me out and let me know what I have coming up.
This is super helpful to me. If you have been keeping up with my stuff, you will know that I have a lot of things going on and to juggle. Without a to-do list, I would not be able to do this at all. The to-do list allows me to not forget things so I have made it a complete habit that no matter what someone asks me, I sit down and make sure that I put it on the to-do list so that I know that I have to get it done.
I find this also to be extremely helpful because I can also gauge what I can get done in one day. At first, I was trying to accomplish as much as possible every day. Eventually, it would start to get to me because there are only so many hours in one day. The to-do list has started to help me gauge how much I can accomplish and after a while, I have started to make reasonable expectations every day of what I can accomplish. Not only has this affected my productivity and efficiency, but it has also helped my mental health and the stress that I put on myself.
If you aren't using a to-do list, I would highly suggest looking into it. It can help with anything from work life, side projects, and even personal life tasks.
If you aren't using it, try it out and let me know if it helps you. If you are using one, feel free to let me know how you are and you utilize your to-do list.
